I have the honour to inform you that since the construction of the defence works at Hong Kong, it has been found necessary at all stations to provide a more efficient defence against torpedo craft, and it is now proposed to make the following additions and alterations in the defence at Hong Kong viz: -

(1) to replace the three 64 pr. R.M.L. guns in Stonecutter's battery by two 4.7 inch Q.P. guns;

(2) to mount two 12 pr. Q.F. guns in place...
